Fotoconnection.com

Total rip off artists as far as I am concerned. Refused to honor 5 year Warranty purchased with Nikon 300D. Total runaround with story that our Warranty Company had been purchased by another company and we would have to deal with them, blah blah blah. Phone calls not returned. New holder of warranty said we were out of luck, because they were not liable for the warranties of the company they purchased. Now after sending camera to Nikon for repairs, they are refusing to repair it, saying it is a 'gray-market' camera, and Nikon is urging the camera repair store we are going thru to also not perform the repairs. Sick of Fotoconnection, and actually pissed at Nikon for trying to make the consumer the "police". Nikon has now had this camera for almost 6 months and has done nothing!! DO NOT TRUST FOTOCONNECTION!!!

Did not send item purchased.

Back in November, I purchased two 16gb SD cards for the price of 1...I got the first one and never got the second one. I have repeatedly called and sent emails trying to take care of this problem. Every time someone tells me they placed the order and will put it in the mail. I still have not gotten it. This is not a difficult situation and I'm not sure why you require a minimum of 100 words to be able to post this problem. I did order a camera from FotoConnection back in the summer of 2009 and it came just fine, no problems. Don't understand why this isn't being taken care of now.

Worst Company ever!!! Scammers!!!! Beware!!

I placed an online order with this company on May 31, 2009 because they had a great price on a digital camera I wanted. Shortly after, I received an email confirmation with my initial order, but no description of my purchase. My original order was for a Casio Elixim digital camera model EX-S880 for $169.99 with free shipping. Two days later on June 2nd I received another email stating I needed to contact Tom to confirm my order. I promptly called him to do so. When I got on the phone with him, he kept pressuring me to purchase additional accessories for the camera. I explained to him that this was merely a replacement camera because I had dropped and broken mine. I told Tom that I already had the battery and memory cards and such for the camera. After several more attempts, he finally took no for an answer. He then proceeded to offer me an "upgrade" of camera for an additional $10. Apparently this "newer" model of camera had a higher mega pixel for the screen and would take better pictures. I asked him if this camera used the same battery and memory card, Tom assured me that it did. I, therefore, agreed to this "new" camera because I believed it to be a good deal. I was going on the recommendation of what I assumed to be a knowledgeable sales representative for Fotoconnection.com. Tom also encouraged me to purchase the 3 year warranty for $30 since I had "just told me [him] that you [I] had broke[n] the camera." He got me there, so I agreed. Tom then sent me an email to click on a link to agree to the credit card charge, now a total of $208.99- $179.99 for the camera (Casio Elixim EX-Z85BE) and $30 for the warranty. I did this no problem, based on the assumption of an honest vendor and sales person. When the camera arrived on June 4th, I immediately recognized it to be of a far lesser quality than the one I originally had. The camera also came in a box that had Casio stickers on it, but was not in an actual Casio box. I've bought a few Casio cameras over the years and have never seen a plain white box like this from CasiO. This made me wonder now if the camera was refurbished- this is something that their website did not state. I looked up the camera they sent me on their website that same night and saw that it was selling for $104.99 and the warranty for $20.30!!! You can imagine my surprise and unhappiness when I realized I had been sold this camera for $179.99 and the warranty for $30!! I called Tom immediately. He was incredibly rude on the phone and insisted that this was still the better camera, never addressing the price issue. He then told me I needed to call customer service the next day if I wanted to return the camera. Since I work during the day, I asked my boyfriend to give them a call because he was home that day on June 5th. He spoke with Josh who told him that I had been talked into this upgrade of camera because the one I originally placed my order for was out of stock (which Tom had not told me). He said they also threw in an extra battery for free, something I did not ask for. Regardless of this extra "gift" they sent me (which in Fotoconection's response to my dispute says, falsely, that they later sent me!), I still was not happy with the misrepresentation of the better quality of camera. I had looked it up on several additional websites to confirm my suspicions that this camera was of lesser quality than the one I originally wanted. My boyfriend kept emphasizing how unhappy with this camera I was and the situation, so Josh offered him a free memory stick as an appeasement. My boyfriend hung up with Josh and called me to ask if this was enough of a remediation for me. Unfortunately, it was not enough because I was still upset with the price differences. My boyfriend called backed again and this time spoke with Andy. My boyfriend questioned him about the price difference and was told that it was offered at a lower price on the website because it did not include anything- battery, wires, etc which does not state this. Andy told him I could not return the camera without being charged a 15% restocking fee (which yes, this information was on their website and my receipts). However, we felt because we had been taken advantage we should have that fee waived. Andy would not cave on this and when my boyfriend told him we would dispute the charges for the difference in price, Andy threatened that I would be sent to collections and Fotoconnection would "mess with my credit." After several more minutes of going back and forth, Andy then said he would speak to his supervisor to see if it was possible to get the fee waived or he said could offer us a $50 credit. My boyfriend then asked him to email us the offer of the credit and whether or not the fee would be waived, thereby having written proof and thus giving me a choice of what I wanted to do (keep the camera and take the credit or return it with no questions asked and my money back). About 10 minutes after the conversation ended, I did in fact receive an email from Andy@***.com- which is a different name than the company I ordered from, but contained a subject line of one of the order numbers on my different invoices. However, the email was completely blank with no body content!!! I replied back asking what this email was supposed to contain. I did not receive a reply to this email. On Sunday, June 7th I received an email containing an RMA, but I had not been told if the restocking fee had been waived. I again emailed Andy asking where we stood on things. Four days later on June 11th, I received a reply from Andy simply stating "What you wants to do". I replied back the same day that I would take the credit and have not heard from this company since. I disputed the difference in price with my credit card and the company actually responded and denied my dispute twice. My credit card was nice enough to give me the credit as a good customer, but I am completely appalled with this company. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not do business with this company. I guarantee they will scam you and please don't encourage them to do it to others!!!!

Beware, Fotoconnection is now operating as appliancesconnection.com and is the same scam operation with the same employees. Appliances Connection sells damages appliances as new.

This is the most inefficient company that I have ever dealt with. I purchased two Summit Gas Cook Top from fotoconnection.com because of the price.

The first one i received has scratches on the surface. i let it go, becuase it is cheap. i ordered the second one, hoping it will be better. however, this time, not only the surface has scratches, it also has missing parts.

My contractor tried to install the cooktop for me but it would work. i called Josh at Fotoconnections, wanted to return the product, he would let me return it. He said that i installed it already, it's insanitary!@!!! what the XXXX!

then he said they would not accept return products, but he can arrange to have it return to the manfacturer for an exchange. i was feeling very dissatisfied but i agreed, then he transferred my call to someone named Andy. the entire process took 4 days, Andy took over the case and told me he could get someone to install it for me. i waited for 4 more days, no answer, no one called.

my tenant is living in the house without the cooktop. This is the worst company ans service i have ever had!!!!

It cost me 500 dollars to purchase the warranties and recently I needed service for the TV and blue ray player. I tried to get a hold of repair tech the warranty company the one that Fotoconnextion insisted that I needed when I purchased the products. Well guess what they are out of business or something now what? I have called and called however no response. I decided to call Fotoconnextion to see if the could help me out. They said no it is my worry. Well that sure is not the way to do business, Fotoconnextion talked me into getting the warranties in the first place. Can someone help me out? Pete Cozzolino

I paid $2262.93 FC told me to fix it and wait for them to get it back from the warranty company. One more bites the dust

Foto Connection is deceitful, deceiving, crooked, dishonest, fraudelent, and a two-faced company!

The Foto Connection had an incredible deal on the camera I had been researching, so I decided to purchase it through them since they also had a wonderful deal that included a tripod, memory card, batteries, etc. The next day I received a call from Tom and he said that he just wanted to confirm my order. He then asked if I was happy with my order and of course I said YES! He said that I would be very disappointed unless I upgraded to a faster memory card and a one hour battery charger. He said for $60 more I could have that. I said I would stick with what I originally ordered. He asked if I would do it for $20. Okay, sure. He then sent me an e-mail confirmation of my order and for me to scroll to the bottom to sign. I did and was happy with my decision. I did not receive an e-mail notification that my order was sent nor a tracking number, however, my camera was delivered in two days in perfect condition. I opened up my box to find an incredible camera just as I had ordered. However, I received a miniature tripod and did not received my 14 in 1 card. I called them and talked to Andy. I explained to situation and said that I wanted those two items for free since that was what I originally ordered. He said that he could send me those items for free with $19.99 shipping fee. I said that I wanted it for free with free shipping since that was my original order and that I did not appreciate being tricked by Tom. He said that I wasn't tricked and would send it to me with free shipping on the tripod but shipping on the card and said, "I don't know why I am sending you this since it is not even on your order". I said, "because it was on my original order and I was tricked into signing the confirmation". He said that he would put me on hold and talk to Tom. He came back on and said that he couldn't talk to him so he would make the decision. Then he asked me if I would good at reviews. I said that I was and asked why. He said that he would send me his e-mail and instructed me to write a review and send it to him and I would get it for free. I said that I would certainly write a review and be very accurate when I received the items since I had to be accurate and honest. He said that he was a man of his word and that I would receive my items and I should send him the review then. I said that Tom was also a man of his word and I did not receive two items I originally ordered and I felt that I was tricked. He said that I wasn't. Well, yes I was, of course I was. I said again that I would write an accurate review as soon as I received the items. Andy said that I would forget and should do it then. I repeated it again. He said, "okay bye". I did receive a confirmation e-mail of my delivery and received both items in perfect condition and was not charged for either item nor the shipping. I want to stress that I received all of my items in perfect condition, but I regret ordering the package and then upgrading. I could have gotten my beautiful camera for only $199 and then found the other items for a fraction of the cost. In regards to actually holding my items in my hand, I am incredibly pleased with my order. In regards to the end result of the cost, frustration, stress, lies, deception, trickery, and having to argue with someone to get what I originally ordered for them--I am very disappointed in myself for being "taken". The way Tom used me and tricked me to get a different package, to sign without review (that was my own *** idea that he could be trusted) and then not send me two of the items that I ordered was wrong, slimy, and deceptive. The way that Andy tried to charge me, acted like I was "taking" the company, talking down to me, said that I did not trust them, trying to get me to write a review before I received the items, and using his slimy way to make me believe him--was unacceptable. I am the customer and I do not need to bow down to this distrustful and slimy company and representatives. I do not appreciate being treated like dirt. I work hard for my money. I researched my camera for weeks. Do you think that I even thought to research the company from which I ordered? NO! I actually trusted people to send me what I ordered and to treat me like a decent human being. I will never, ever, ever order from this horrible company. I will never order ANYTHING without researching the company first. I was a trusting person thinking that I would trust other companies not to trick me. My advice to anyone researching this company to see if they should order from Foto Connection? DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. Again, I received everything in perfect condition, very quickly--however, I did not receive what I originally ordered, I was tricked and lied to by both Tom and Andy, and treated like dirt. I do not appreciate this and will never give a company my business or money when I have to fight for what I should have gotten the first time. Never order from them. Research EVERY company you order from, for this company is one of many out there. This company, however, is a prime example of the way this world is going down the toilet. Sincerely yours, The customer that has a beautiful camera but is very unhappy by being treated as she was, tricked, lied to, and then made to feel like a horrible person for not believing the slimy, deceptive, arrogant, deceitful, deceiving, deluding, delusive, derisory, fallacious, false, misleading, specious, devious, guileful, shady, shifty, sly, sneaky, tricky, underhanded; inaccurate, incorrect, wrong, bewildering, confounding, distracting, perplexing, crooked, dishonest, double-dealing, fraudulent, knavish, lying, mendacious, untrustworthy, untruthful, insidious, perfidious, treacherous, artificial, backhanded, feigned, hypocritical, insincere, left-handed, two-faced representatives.

Shipped me wrong items and wanted me to pay for shipping it back for replacement

I ordered a Panasonic Lumix ZS1K camera - from FOTO CONNECTION - with extra lithium batteries (it was a"buy 1 get 1" summer offer for the batteries) so I expected 2 units of batteries. But they shipped me 2 wrong batteries and they wanted me to ship them back at my own expense. It was their fault that I received the wrong ones, so why will I be penalized by paying for the shipment cost. The least this company could do is to sent me a box with pre-paid shipping.A Manager from the company named Josh said that I should pay for mailing it back to them. Again the company is Foto Connection with address: P.O.Box 300425 Brooklyn, NY 11230

Horrible Experience

Fotoconnection is a fraud! On 12-25-2008 I ordered a canon SD950IS for $318 plus $ 9.- something for delivery, altogether $328. Except for the on line confirmation on the order form I received no statement confirming the order, no item description, no cost. On 12-28-2008 I called up to inquire, why I did not receive a statement I was told it was Christmas and Fotoconnections still had to 'confirm' the order. No new information were provided, all the same information when I ordered initially via the internet. After that I was told I should order a package deal for over $400. I declined this offer and all other various high pressure offers. Then I was pressured to purchase a different higher priced delivery. I declined. I left the order as I originally ordered it. This time I received a confirmation: The confirmation 'cleverly' does not include the item and the cost. After another couple of days I received another note confirming the order and reference to a shipping tracing number. Still no information about cost, item description and delivery. The tracing number was not included. I waited another couple of days, still no tracing number and I called them up to inquire. I was told by their staff that they don't have the camera by itself for another 2 week, but I could buy the camera and get it shipped right now as a package dearl (for a much higher price). I declined and inquired why they can not sell the camera as originally ordered. The answer was 'this is how it is', no explanation. Then they said I could cancel the order. I agreed and cancelled the order. When I asked about a cancellation number, I was told I did not need a cancellation number, they were cancelling the order while I am on the telephone. A half an hour later I called back inquiring about the availability of the same camera. I was told they have a whole warehouse full with this camera. When I told them that I just cancelled my order of the same camera just a half an hour ago, I was told I was a liar, since I called them under false pretense. I was told to cancel the order again. I told them had done this before, but asked to cancel again. Again I was not given a cancellation number, I was told I did not need one.. On January 10, 2008 received a note that my camera was shipped for $408.99. I called back and asked why the camera was shipped, since it was cancelled. Now they asked for the cancellation #, which of course I did not have. There was also no explanation about the higher cost. They offered that I could return for a 15% restocking fee. I declined the 15% restocking charge and told them since I did not order the camera for $408.99, had cancelled the order twice, that I would work with my credit company to get this cleared up. When I called the credit company I was advised to return the camera and pay for the shipping. When I called Fotoconnection back they refused to provide me with a return address and said they would not accept the return. I investigated on the internet about a mailing address (Better Bussiness). BBB has Fotoconnection under various company names, but no address (all PO boxes in NY-Brooklyn). The unopened package still waits to be returned. The mailing address and sender name on the package is not Fotoconnections, the name is: Shipping Department, (718) 434-****, GB Electronic Shopping, 1100-01 Coney Island Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11230 This company is a fraud, it is a 'bait and switch' operation, it is a predator in the internet business and should be put out of business. I intend to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the legal authorities in New York. Fotoconnection has a staff, which is crude, obnoxious. They are all liars and you cannot trust anything they are saying. They talk over you, they insult you, they hang up, they know exactly what they are doing. Once they have your money they know from experience that many customers give up. In short the steps this company has taken in my case: 1. After your order they confirm the order, but do not provide any order specifics, no item description and number, no price 2. After 3 days of not hearing from Fotoconnection after I called I had to ?confirm? the order, even though no new information was provided. 3. At this time the sales rep ?Todd? tries to hard sell a costlier package deal and a costlier shipping process, 4. A few days later they send you an order confirmation, still without order specification, no item description, no item number, no cost specification. They made reference to a tracing number. 5. Since no tracing number could be looked up, I called to inquire. 6. I was told they have not shipped the item, since they do not have the camera as an individual item, they only have the camera available as a package deal. 7. They use high pressure to sell again a package deal for more money. 8. I declined. They suggested for me to cancel the order. I agreed and cancelled the order. 9. When requesting a cancellation number, they did not provide it, since ? I did not need one?, they were ?cancelling the order while on the telephone?. 10. They ship the order. They are sending a statement with a drastically different cost figure, instead $328, it is now $408.99. 11. When calling about my cancelled order, they instantly asked for the ?cancellation? number. 12. They suggest I return for a 15% restocking fee. 13. I refuse and told them I would contact my credit card company, to help me straighten this out. 14. My credit company advised me to return the package. 15. I called Fotoconnection back and asked for a shipping address to return the order. 16. After talking to different persons using high pressure sales technics to tell me how good the deal is I was finally told that they won?t accept the return shipment. They refused to give me their address. Fotoconnection has a staff, which is crude, obnoxious. They are all liars and you cannot trust anything they are saying. They talk over you, they insult you, they hang up, they know exactly what they are doing. Once they have your money they know from experience that many customers give up. Stay away from Fotoconnection, find a reputable outfit. I bought the same camera after I cancelled from another company. The cost was $352.79, all communication was done via the internet, all was above board, the camera arrived in 3 days with US guarantee.

Foto Connection-fraudulent claims-New York slicksters.

Camera in-stock on internet, out of stock on the phone, said maybe their is something comparable. I did'nt ask for something comparable.Same person pretends to be someone different each time you are sent to different individuals. If you are going to operate a business try to be honest. Times are hard. Money is scarce for poor working class people such as myself.I spent 5.95 before even making the purchase. Would I trust using a credit card? No! Would I purchase with anything else? T think not.The message that I'm receiving is that a lot of companies "if they truly are companies", in New York are owned and operated by crooks.

Bait and Switch

The Original FotoConnection camera plus lens package had a "shipping problem". The suggested lens, battery, memory configuration ended up costings hundreds of dollars more than what you could buy at any store. Bottom line ... stay away! If you receive a call from a salesperson associated with this organization after submitting an online order simply cancel the order and make sure your credit card company rejects any charges. Example - a Canon EOS 5D Mark II camera body is $2,699. The delivered lens sells for $465.00. Extra battery and memory is in the sub $200 range. Package suggested by FotoConnection (RaplhH) was $3993, a difference of over $600. The camera arrived in a different box than the original package. Protective coverings on the LCD panels had been removed. The camera had obviously been used and should not have been sold as new. The standard Canon instruction manual/disk/info package had been slit open and the memory that would come with the standard camera removed. Quality of the "extras" such as the tripod and camera bag was abysmal. The email from the salesperson asking for feedback even had a phishing virus! In this time of recession I'm not sure how a company like this stays in business. The company motto appears to be "You can screw everyone once, more if you try hard."

What happend to the Customer being right?

I ordered a wrist strap for my digital camera from FotoConnection. In the picture, you could see the stitching in the strap so you naturally thought it was leather or at the very least vinyl and it had a metal ring to attach to your camera. When my package arrived, I had received a green and a pink cloth flimsy wriststrap that you could go purchase for about 39 cents. I immediately called them and after I waited on hold for a good 30 minutes, I spoke with a very, very rude young man. He told me it would cost me more in shipping to return the order than to keep it. He said he pulled it up on their website and it did not say anywhere that it would be leather. He said he would email me an RMA number in an hour or two. Yeah, right! This company should be put out of business and I intend to contact the BBB in their state also.

Foto Connection is a - do not buy from them!!

I ordered a Pentax camera from Fotoconnection's website on Feb 17th, received an email with my order number and a phone call to confirm my order which was a selling ploy to try and upgrade my purchase - during this phone call I refused all upgrades and the salesperson confirmed my details and told me the camera would be shipped. Three days later I received another call trying to upgrade my camera lens (he told me the lens in the package would not work properly!!) and the battery (told me it only comes with a trial battery and it won't last long and I have to buy another at $129) and then told me my photos would have rings around them due to the lens - what a load of ***!. I refused all kinds of upgrades to my order and the salesperson got snarky with me - told me he wasn't making any money and what did I want him to do, so I told him to ship it three days ago as promised, he said ok he would do that Mon Feb 23rd. After this phone call I was very annoyed and didn't have any faith the order would be brand new in a box as described on their website. So I rung and cancelled my order and asked for the cancellation number - which I was told there isn't one because my order was NEVER processed!!! They had no intention of completing my order because like the salesperson told me they weren't making any money on it. I am hoping they don't make any charges to my credit card. These guys are a bunch of *** and no one should buy from them - they are scammers!!!!

Fotoconnection Scam

I am very embarrassed to report to your office that I have been scammed by a company named Fotoconnection. These people are very good at what they do and use intimidationg and in you face outright scare tactics to get you to buy upgrades, etc.on whatever you are buying. I was looking for a good deal on a Nikon d300 (Body Only) camera and a battery grip for it. After searching the internet for quite a while I found fotoconnection.com. I am including the URL for this particular camera they had on sale for a very good price: http://www.fotoconnection.com/p71742-nikon-d300-123-mp-dslr-camera-lowest-price-around-stock.html This site above has a Nikon D300 12.3 megapixel for $1199. Also, some very nice accessories for free if you buy this camera such as tripod, case, etc. Very nice website looks very professional. I decided to buy the Camera and battery grip. I did this late Friday night on October 10, 2008. I noticed on their site, they were closed on Saturday and Sunday and several days this month during the work week. I received a call from “Sam Moore” Sunday afternoon asking me to call him back to verify/confirm the order. When I called him back a couple of hours later, he had evidently left work. I called the next Monday morning and talked with a guy named James. James preceded to tell me that the camera I bought was from the “UK” and what part of Europe was I going to use it. I told him that I am not in Europe or going to Europe. He stated that the camera that I want to buy is from the “UK” and that it is made of plastic. For an additional $200.00, I can get a new “USA” Nikon with full warranty and started adding sweet add-ons such as a 4 gig card, etc. I am embarrassed to say that he totally had me, I said , yeah OK, I can live with that and he wanted to immediately send an email to me to confirm this, I told him that I was not as home and could not, he stated that he would send it and I needed to send the “confirmed” message thru email to him as soon as possible. On the way home I started thinking about this and had a gut feeling. When I got home, I started searching for complaints and boy did I find them. Here is one in particular that caught my eye: http://www.capsandstems.com/shared/photography_fraud.htm I called them back on Monday October 13, 2008 and talked with Customer Representative “James” again. I told him that after thinking about this I have decided not to guy this camera or upgrade. After almost screaming at me, he informed me that I am obligated to buy this upgrade. I told him that I would buy the original camera and Battery grip, he told me that order had been cancelled since I wanted to upgrade. I told him at that time that I am cancelling this whole order and that I was being a victim of a scam. He laughed at me and told me that “Hey, I did not steal your Credit Card nor did I find your Credit card on the street”, by the way, we are charging you $300.00 for restocking fees. I told him that I had not confirmed yet by email to him that I would buy this upgrade or the original, and how could this order be in a “restocking” phase. He told me that I had no recourse since it was company policy. I told him under no circumstance did I want this nor would I pay a restocking fee of $300.00, and that I was going to call the Attorny General’s office in NY to make a complaint, he laughed again and told me that they had already charged my card for $300 and hung up on me. On Tuesday, October 14, 2008, I called my credit card company and as of this date they have not charge may card. I called my Credit Card company and they told me that I could do nothing at this point until they charge my card. This is very humiliating and yes I am fully aware that I let them “Scam” me, but for the regular buying looking for a deal, they have a very neatly, professional looking website, and trick their customers into upgrading or as a last resort hit them with this ridiculous “Restocking Fee”. Now I am just waiting to see if they are actually going to charge my Credit Card. I feel absolutely helpless about this. Is there anything that can be done to these people? The above site gives a very good detailed information about this company and the name of the person who owns it, along with many names that have been used in the past. I absolutely do not know what to do except to place this complaint to your office and other websites including the BBB. This place is the most wretched thing I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I would rather be mauled to death by a squirrel than ever deal with them again.

I really wanted to get a nice video camera for my family as my grandma was dying and we needed to take lots of video of her with the family to preserve her memory. I went to fotoconnection because the price was so cheap. They had a really nice set-up that was much cheaper than anyone elses by far.

I talked to the salesman who was very pushy and was trying to push many add ons that were very overpriced and un needed by me. He tried to push warranties and extra shipping prices on me as well.

I told him I did not need these things and he asked me why I needed the camera. I told him and he said you really will want the american version of this camera as the version I want is an import from taiwan.

I told him this is not right as I read it on the site and he became furious and started cussing and screaming at me over the phone. I asked him what in the world is wrong with you and he cursed me one more time and said thanks for wasting my time you *** ***.

He then said he hopes my granda dies and hung up the phone. I have never been angrier in my entire life and I am trying to save anyone here from going through this kind of un needed trauma as me and my family had to. These people are criminals and should be locked up behind bars. They have no heart or no soul.

Scam artists and pathelogical liars

I bought several items from Fotoconnection.com. The salesman Sam made several misrepresentations to force the sale of additional items. 1. Sam stated that the battery for a Sony DSC-T100 camera I ordered would only last a few minutes. So he sold me a "long life" battery. The battery received was the standard Sony battery contained in a sealed Sony box. This was the battery advertised on the fotoconnection.com website as coming with the camera. In essence, Sam sold me a phantom upgrade. Roger then stated that the store normally pulls out the standard Sony battery and installs a demo battery. No where was this down-grade stated on their web site. Sony states that dealers are not authorized to alter their product and in fact that no downgrade battery (NP-BG0) is even manufactured for this camera. Roger, the store's customer service representative, refused to adjust the price, despite their obvious misrepresentation and fraud. 2. Sam stated that the battery for the Nikon D40D camera that I ordered likewise would only last a few minutes. He then said the camera should have a battery that lasts for 5 hours and sold me an upgraded battery. The battery that came with the camera was more than adequate (1000 MAh). The additional battery that he sent was only a 1200 MAh. This little power difference is meaningless. Sam misrepresented the need for the upgrade and the life of the Nikon Battery. Roger then refused to accept a return of the battery, despite their misrepresentation. 3. Shipping took forever and I had to call at least 20 times before I ever got through to someone who kept telling me the item had shipped when it actually had not. This went on for almost 6 weeks before the camera ever arrived at my house. 4. Finally, Sam told me that the Nikon camera came with only a 90 day warranty and sold me a 1 year Nikon warranty to supplement the 90 day one. When the camera came, it had a 1 year Nikon warranty. The extended warranty received was not a Nikon warranty. It was a Repairtech warranty. They then refused to accept a return stating that the camera was pre-registered with Repairtech. When I called Repairtech, Repairtech stated that there had been no pre-registration of the warranty and no problem with a return of the warranty. 4. Finally, they stated that a refund could not be made because I was sold a package. I never asked for a package nor was I told it was a non-refundable package deal at any time. This store and their salesman, Sam, are little more than a front for fraud.

Fotoconnection.com Rude & Unrealiable

My husband ordered a camera for me for xmas on the 22nd, paid $$ in shipping. Fotoconnection called him to say the color he wanted would not be available to ship that day but would be here by the 24th. Today is the 28th (still no camera), I called them on the camera. Spoke with John first who was the rudest, most condescending, ignorant man I have ever spoke with. Here we are buying from them and they have not met their end of the deal, and they have the audacity to have an attitude when we question why. They did not even have a tracking number yet because it had not shipped! After the rude treatment I wanted the order cancelled. John transfered me to customer service (that in itself is laughable). Again rude treatment and the rep actually stated that he would treat me like a queen snidely.. How arrogant and repugnant! I told him I would like a full refund, he offered a free 3 year warranty on the camera..To which I replied if I have not even received the merchandise and I am already being treated this rudely why would I ever wish to deal with his company if I ever had a true issue with one of their products! I stated I expected a full refund; he threatened me with a restocking fee and shipping fees, I told him I would not pay a dime and my credit card company would be notified! He stated that I would have to wait 6 months to ever see a credit and kept rambling that it would be in my best interest to just wait for the camera and take the $10.00 shipping refund or the warranty (trying to close me in the sale). I flatly refused and informed him I would alert my credit card company, the BBB, and the Attorney General in his state (Brooklyn, NY), which I will do tomorrow... I would never deal with this company they are very unprofessional, crass, and lack the skills required to properly service a customer.
